136 days pregnant and I’m not sure if I feel movement yet…
December 13, 2009
How do you know when the baby is moving in its earliest stages? I’ve heard the bubbles, gas and butterflies descriptions, but other than sharp pains telling me that my already round belly is about to get rounder, not much is happening. The other night my husband was conversing with the aforementioned tummy (which was really rather cute) and I thought I felt 2 little jabs on my left side signifying what I can only assume were kicks. Or punches. Apparently my 4 years of Tae Kwon Do had more influence on me than I thought.
Everyone in my family, all friends and most strangers keep asking the question: So, is the baby moving yet? Instead of saying “How the f*%@ should I know!?” I simply rely on the tired ‘gas’ excuse.
I suppose I should just be patient and wait the 2 extra weeks (when I’ll be 21 weeks pregnant Godwilling) where there will be no doubt of a) movement and b) gender .
Which brings me to the sex thing, no not that, the sex of the baby. Doc said 80% chance it’s a girl. So what’s that mean? 20% chance that we have a boy playing hide and seek with his willy? If the latter, we will most likely have a cheeky baby boy on our hands. Watch out kindergarteners and parents. Obviously we would be thrilled with either. Is it more politically correct to say that? Of course it is but it’s still true. Okay, maybe I really want a little girl- but I prefer a healthy child above all else.
Ultrasound #5 is to take place on Tuesday, December 15th (also the day we close escrow on our new place- wish us luck). Let’s see if little Miss 80% will be coy or give us a winning booty shot. More to come…
